This HOWTO is for anyone stuck in a Microsoft Windows infrastructure who wants to run Linux, or anyone stuck in a Linux infrastructure who has to run Microsoft Windows. Every Linux company has at least one of the latter.
Almost all of the information in this HOWTO can be found other places. My hope is that this HOWTO can be a single point of reference that can answer a lot of questions: "Wow, I never knew getting printing working was so easy!"
This HOWTO is aimed both at computer users and system administrators. Better yet, it empowers users to give their sysadmins a clue about how to deal with unreasonable users who won't use whatever OS the sysadmin prefers supporting!
Please note that almost all of the Linux software and issues mentioned below are similar to using Unix with MS Windows.
