MPI_Get_elements - Returns the number of basic elements in
       a data type

SYNOPSIS

       C:

            #include <mpi.h>

            int MPI_Get_elements ( status, datatype, elements )
            MPI_Status    *status;
            MPI_Datatype  datatype;
            int          *elements;

       C++:

            #include <mpi.h>

            int Status::Get_elements(
            const Datatype&   datatype) const

       Fortran:

            INCLUDE "mpif.h" (or USE MPI)

            INTEGER status(MPI_STATUS_SIZE), datatype, count, ierror

            CALL MPI_GET_ELEMENTS(status, datatype, count, ierror)

STANDARDS

       This release implements the MPI 1.2 standard, as
       documented by the MPI Forum in the spring 1997 release of
       MPI: A Message Passing Interface Standard.

DESCRIPTION

       The MPI_Get_elements routine returns the number of basic
       elements in a data type. This routine accepts the
       following parameters:

       status Specifies the return status of the receive
                 operation (status)

       datatype Specifies the data type used by the receive
                 operation (handle)

       elements Returns the number of received basic elements
                 (integer)

       ierror Specifies the return code value for successful
                 completion, which is in MPI_SUCCESS.
                 MPI_SUCCESS is defined in the mpif.h file.
