MPI_Address - Gets the address of a location in memory

SYNOPSIS

       C:

            #include <mpi.h>

            int MPI_Address( location, address)
            void     *location;
            MPI_Aint *address;

       C++:

            #include <mpi.h>

            Aint Get_address(
            void*             location)

       Fortran:

            INCLUDE "mpif.h" (or USE MPI)

            <type> LOCATION(*)
            INTEGER address, ierror

            CALL MPI_ADDRESS(location, address, ierror)

STANDARDS

       This release implements the MPI 1.2 standard, as
       documented by the MPI Forum in the spring 1997 release of
       MPI: A Message Passing Interface Standard.

DESCRIPTION

       The MPI_Address routine gets the address of a location in
       memory. This routine is provided for both Fortran and C
       programmers. On many systems, the address returned by
       this routine will be the same as produced by the C &
       operator, but this is not required in C and might not be
       true of systems with word- rather than byte-oriented
       instructions or systems with segmented address spaces.
       This routine accepts the following parameters:

       location Specifies the location in caller memory (choice)

       address Returns the address of the location (integer)

       ierror Specifies the return code value for successful
                 completion, which is in MPI_SUCCESS.
                 MPI_SUCCESS is defined in the mpif.h file.
