There are great books out there. This is a list of a few books that may be helpful if you want to go into more detail.
is one of the best books I've ever read. It covers all important topics you could ever want to read about and illustrates the common tasks with many Unix derivates, including Linux.
If you want to dig deeper, O'Reilly has published yet another great book which is loaded with practical tips on how to get more work done.
Learning the bash shell is a good introduction into the bash. Additionally you might want to check out the bash documentation.
The GNU sed documentation is a good starting point for getting used to sed.
As awk is that powerful I suggest you to read some information about it. It can save you a lot of work at times. I can heartily recommend the two books to learn more about both sed and
awk. The documentation of gawk is very good, too.
To learn more about vi there are two great O'Reilly books. There are also a lot of Web sites dedicated to vi.
The Internet is a great pool of information about Linux and all the other tools introduced in this document. Especially the Linux Documentation Project provides great documents. They have an endless number of HOWTOs, guides, FAQs and other kind of documentation. There is also a good link collection there.
