Article VI

Amendments and Will of Members

A. Any decision, act, order, rule or the like established by any officer or Board of GIGO-National or of a Local Chapter may be overruled by a 3/4 vote of the Membership (National Membership in the case of a National decision, and Local Chapter Membership in the case of a Local Chapter affair). B. Amendments may be sought and enacted by the following processes:

1. This Constitution & By-Laws may be amended by the Executive Board, with a 3/4 approval of the Membership.

1a. In the case of amending a Local Chapter Constitution, the Chapter Executive Board may amend with a 3/4 vote of the Chapter Membership, and all amendments are subject to approval by the National Executive Board.

1b. In the case of a National Constitution & By-Laws amendment, the National Executive Board amy be amended with a 3/4 vote by the National Membership. In the case of an abstention, a 3/4 vote shall be defined as 3/4 of those votes which are either in favor of or against amending. Abstentions shall not be counted as votes for or against.

2. This Constitution & By-Laws may be amended by Members by submitting the proposed amendment, accompanied by a petition signed by 1/4 of the Membership of the Local Cahpter (in Chapter Affairs) or by either 1/4 of the National membership or one Chapter's full Membership, to the National Executive Board. The amendment shall then be approved by a 3/4 vote of the membership, on the National or Local levels where appropriate.
