Hello don,
My name is Jamie Propp. I run an independent label in New York City called
As Is Entertainment. I just read your WEFT playlist posting for the
week, and was very impressed.
Not only are you helping to let people know what 'other' music is out
there (and being played) in addition to the major releases, but you are
making an effort to create a voice for the non-commercial stations that
are often times under-appreciated, under-funded, yet most valued by
independent companies like mine.
With one release under our belt, SUBPLAY - Subway Musicians of New York,
we rely on stations like yours to provide the majority of our airplay. As
our record is multi-format, it is most at home at non-comm stations.
Although we'e got a single for top 40, we'll have to build up a story
before we can even be considered by such a popular commercial format, not
to mention, get into the whole radi promoter loop.
I would be curios to know if your station would play more than one cut
from the record in light of the fact that you program shows of various
formats?
As this is our first release, and I am learning more and more about radio
by the day, I was hoping that you could suggest a way for me to make sure
that all your DJs learn about the record and know that it is available to
play on their shows without sending a box of CDs to each stations?
This record is very high profile. A few of the press highlights are: a 3
page article in Nov 'Mix Magazine' about it, Good Morning America, and an
upcoming appearance on Conan O'Brien later this month.
Any suggestion that you have will be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to hear a copy of SUBPLAY, visit our web site

I look forward to hearing from you,
Jamie Propp
