I saw Frank this morning while I was walking back to my car from Bruegger's.
This first thing I thought was: "I should give Frank a hug!"
I REALLY had to bite my lip to keep from erupting into a laughing fit that
I knew would eventually leave me rolling around on the sidewalk giggling
to myself.
Frank deserves a lot of credit for making Chapel Hill one of the best places
around to see live shows. It's a pain to keep a club open and running, as
we've all seen through the various Cradle incarnations over the years. He's
stuck with it and I think everyone in this town who loves music, and not
just those who like rock/indie music, have Frank to thank for helping to
make Chapel Hill/Carrboro such a musically rich place.
So be thankful...
oh - and for you kids who want a Theremin, you can get a full assembled
tube model from Big Briar for around $1700-$2500 (I think) or the kit
for around ($200-$300). For the kit you should be handy with sanders and
soldering irons. Also, I had to use surface mount resisters to end up making a
usable attenuation cable.
Sporkestra (formally known as Blunt Spork Orchestra) is still looking for
more Theremin players to join the avant-spazz fray.
