fauxy meaning

Chris, your messages have turned into a weird puzzle, where I try
to figure out what you're replying to, how you've used their own words to
reply, and what you are saying. Whoever suggested that you start this
large digest format of replying has started something i never expected to
be so interesting. I liked all your messages before, and if for some
reason, i was getting it, and decided I was never going to, at least from
the message, i just deleted it and went on. No commitment, and only
sometimes meaningful. Now, every message has become something worth
pouring over.
But I wonder one thing in particular (n.par.tich.you.lair.)
What, if anything, is real? And what, if anything, is real to you? This
is important to me.

I was talking to a list member the other night (Hi, Jenn!) And I
realized that i have met a fair number of you folks. it made me happy.
the other thing it made me realize, based on how jenn came up and just
asked if I was derek, and told me she was jenn, was that i should be
forward with my curiosity. SO i plan to just go up to people on this list
when I see them, and introduce myself. I missed the party, but not the
revolution. So I would like to warn these people in particular, because I
see them all the time, but have never really just introduced myself or
been introduced: Adam (because i see you walking around campus, and at
shows all the time, ranging from you teaching on the quad (scary thought),
to last years Morphine concert, to Pine State shows), Todd ( because I see
you at shows and in the computer lab, and I think you know who I am, but I
don't yet feel like I can just go up and talk to you), and Dave ( because
I think I see you often, but I'm not sure that's who you really are.)
Anyway, I would like to do the same with ri, but I never see him, alec,
but I don't have the slightest what he looks like, alan, same as alec,
kris, but he doesn't live around here, bob, same as kris, and it goes on
and on...

be bold,
derek

ps
of course i could very likely chicken out, being less then self confident
about such things.
