Late Night Snack…
What time is it?…I’m off schedule, but look what ibiblio discovered today…>
Paul Jones reports that ComputerWorld has listed ibiblio among it’s five finalists in the Education and Academia category for ComputerWorld’s 21st Century Achievement Awards.
Paul will be donning his tux, but just make sure that he rocks the sear-sucker in D.C…Now that’s fresh and clean.
***A couple of weeks ago, we relayed a story to you from the New York Times about how iPods are hot items for thieves on subway cars. Well, one of the subjects of the story was an assistant named Elliot Aranow, who worked for Fader Magazine.
In the NYTimes article, he was quoted as saying. “All the value was in the music. The thing itself was just a stupid device.”
Well, we have an update from Tricia Romano’s Village Voice article today. Check it out here. It turns out that Apple is a major advertiser in Fader Mag, and their marketing department was very upset about the quote appearing in the Times. A few days later Aranow lost his job at Fader because of the supposed bad-mouthing of the iPod product….C’mon Fader and Apple…Read between the lines. You can replace the iPod, but you can’t replace the library…Give the kid his gig back…Geez.
Time to zzzz,
BD
