urbanization impacts on farm land

Urban blight is poised to strike an agricultural area surrounding a small
city here in western Washington. A housing development has been proposed
for this agricultural area. The growers of the area are seeking literature
to support their argument that urban developments will force them out of
business in the not so distant future.

The growers have examples they can present to show that urban development
in the region has historically forced growers off the land. They are
seeking some published literature to substantiate their claim.

If anyone has access to such literature, I would greatly appreciate the
references or copies. I appreciate any help this list can give.
