One very strong natural fungicide is obtained from the horsetail
plant. You can buy the herb at healthfood stores and boil it in water
to make your own extract or you can purchase it already made up as an
herbal tonic. It is extremely effective on mildew, less so on black
spot and other fungus. I use it every two weeks to maintain a good soil
balance. Horsetail can also be purchased as a natural cleanser for
washing vegetables and fruit. It is safe for humans and animals.
