How do I Join?
To "Join", just sign up for one of the the mailing lists. After that, participation is up to you. Internetworkers main focus is building community amongst the Internet professionals in the Triangle area. We do this by:
- Having Gatherings where techies get out from behind their computers and socialize. Gatherings are announced on the Inet-Announce mailing list. This is a low-volume, broadcast-only email list used only for announcements.
- Talking about stuff on our Discussion List, where Internetworkers discuss whatever comes to mind: the digital divide, intellectual property, web hosting, stolen web sites, life in the triangle, denial-of-service attacks and North Carolina's new "Geek Profiling" have been just a few of the topics... and of course, we talk about the weather. The list was quite active during our record snow storm this winter. Message volume ranges from 5 to 50 messages a day, but it seems to average around 10.
- Contributing links to our Check It Out! page. Enlighten us!
- Doing stuff! If you'd like to help organize a gathering, work on the web site, help plan our upcoming trip to the space station, let us know!
