We look forward to future Ross rockings and impromptu rappings, and bid you all a fond "fare thee well."
"I knows what all them peoples are known fur 'cuz I watch E! Entertainment, Cable TV's Premiere Celebrity Network when Bass Masters ain't on," Mr. Faddulla said upon being informed that 150 is greater than 140, meaning that he is the grand winner. When asked what he planned to do with his earnings, Mr. Faddulla replied, "I'm takin' my best girl, Charlene, to the Chatham County All-Star Tractor Pull, and then to Hardee's for peanut-butter shakes. Or I could get my VCR out of the pawn shop. The world really is my oyster."
Woody, as he's known to everyone who loves him, was the axe-slinging sex kitten of the band before he announced in a press release this week that he no longer felt up to performing the grueling tour schedule of AnnA^Infinity. The split was amicable, as Woody and the rest of the rock group, Mitch "Frontman" Bennett, Matt "Bass Clef" Blanchard and Lee "Lethal Riddims" Richards, plan on "just being friends."
"I'm not really too upset about the split," Bennett said, but his tear-stained face and bloodshot eyeballs told the truth for him. Blanchard said, "I hope Woody's happy with whatever new direction he's pointed in." Richards was unavailable for comment, but Woody had this to say: "Have you ever heard of Polvo?"
The split was not a complete one, however, as Woody will join the band in a very limited manner this Thursday at the Student Union's Cabaret at 9:00 post meridian. A press release by Bennett's publicist had this to say: "This will be one in a series of farewell shows to Woody, whose jersey and number will be retired Thursday. He is expected to join the band as an assistant coach, however."
AnnA will persevere, though. In fact, tryouts for a new guitar player will begin this week, much like the Blind Melon lead singer search of last year. The band wants "an EXCELLENT guitar player, who can sing, play the accordian and the trumpet." If you know of anyone who can perform all of these tasks, lives in the Chapel Hill area, and doesn't mind having bras thrown at them, please have them call Mitch at (919) 942-9928, or email him at pinworm@email.unc.edu
The Instigators of Infinity pumped out a weekend's worth of wonderful
sonic creations, playing two phat gigs in the first weekend of October.
On Saturday the 5th, AnnA juiced up the folks
at Carrboro's own Cat's
Cradle as the opening act for Jump Lil Chillun. This journalist would
have to lie to report that he attended the show in the flesh. However, it
can be reported that AnnA's amazing performance transferred itself
telepathically to
one Jamison Faddulla, who happened to be attending the Wake Forest/UNC football "drubbing" that night in Winston Salem. Mr. Faddulla channelled that raw psychic power into the big ol' ass-whuppin' that the Demon Deacons received that fateful evening.
The very next night, the AnnA Aces jaunted to the great n' greasy town of Greensboro, NC, the hometown of both Matt "Slappy" Blanchard, and Jamison Faddulla himself. The Infinites jumped onto the stage at the newly-opened Jokers 3, and wouldn't stop pla
ying until they finished. All of the old standbys were given the live sonic treatment, including a manic Michelle, and most of the newbies got played, too. AnnA herself got payed, too, raking in one-third of the dough that was called "price of admission
."
AnnA fannas Erin the Baron, Loquacious Linda, Kevin "Bowlcut" Jenkins, Jill "Foxy" Wolf and Heather "Diva" Lewis all showed up to gawk at the band, dance to the sounds, and even go home later.
Here's hoping for a hopping October with Annar to the Infinite Powa!
AnnA^Infinity officially opened the Smootchie-Phat Jam Season September 14 a
t their favorite haunt, the Lizzie N. Snaik Home for Displaced Refried Beans. Mitch Bennett, Matt Blanchard, Allwyne Richards, and Ralph Sullender were back in effect for another two semesters of smokin' grooves.
Following the opening act of the less
-than-jolly Strawman, AnnA plunged into a sexy set of old and new songs blended together like a Dank Daquiri. The slammin' set of snazzy songs marked the first time the band has played in public since last year's now-infamous Ammonia and Clorox Party. T
here was no rust on the gears of the finely-attuned AnnA machine, however. The band started off with the trippily lovely "Coming Home Sux," then played the Bennett original, "Waiters (gnidoceD)." Next came more familiar stAnnArds like "Downtown Train,"
"Martians," and "Face." The Infinite Indivduals then collectively ventured into virgin aural territory, debuting new songs like the skankish "Ribcage," the hard rockin' "Woodstove," and the bellissimo (most beautiful) "Envelope."
The AnnA Admirals close
d with the routine climatic duo of "Bonnie's Bionic Arm" and "Michelle Barber."
As the debut evening came to a too-early close, AnnA emerged triumphantly as the masters of all that is alter-ego pop rock. Those in attendance recieved a night of bootie
-shakin' revelry, and stories to tell their grandparents.
