Most of you that have been following along have probably realized that I should be back home in cozy Durham by now. In fact, had all gone according to plan, Joe would have picked me up at RDU about five hours ago. However, Janet and I have decided that I can't leave yet, for a variety of reasons. The work is actually going quite well, we've just decided there's more to do. And, I'm going to take a few days off next week and jump on the shinkansen to Kyoto. This means that I'll have all kinds of harrowing adventures to continue to write about. After Kyoto, I'll be back in Tokyo for another week and a half. I'm definitely coming back on March 28, though. Well, maybe.
I have been very encouraged by the amazing amount of support, via email and on the website. Thank you everyone and keep tuning in, there's certainly more to come.
Come on back soon, Jim. I still owe you a beer at the fabled Flying Saucer. Plus, I had an idea last night that just might kill us all....
and I need you to help me.

Posted by: Erin on March 9, 2002 12:01 AMGlad to hear that all is going well. If you plan on staying for a real extended stay, please let us know so we can come to see you! HA HA! Have fun in Kyoto. Did you know that Kyoto was the only major Japanese city to not be bombed by the US in WWII? Keep in touch and Happy Birthday. Love Ya, Dad
