All that's missing are the flying cars

For Rich's last night in town, the four of us went out for a night in The Ginza. Truly, this is Japan at it's neon, electric finest. Emerging from the JR Line, you realize you are in a very different place, even by Tokyo's standards.
Dinner was wonderful, but the bar we scuttled off to was absolutely amazing. Seated at the very top of the Hyatt, 80 floors up, it offers a stunning view of the city, especially at night. As far as the eye can see stretch the concrete, glass, and steel amazement of the city. The chaos and cacophony of the city at street level have an uncanny order from this height. The streets wind through the glowing towers of light and every building is topped in glowing red lights, which all seem to blink in harmony. I was drawn, all evening, to the Blade Runner-esque quality of the view before us and wondered, out loud, if such scenes exist without having first been rendered by a computer. It's not electric sheep the androids are dreaming of but their home skyline at night.

Ah, my child, the bright lights have you in their grasp!! You always did love the shiny things!! I must admit to being awed by the thoughts of people drinking 80 floors above the ground! Somehow that makes me intoxicatingly dizzy here at the key board!!! And then to look out over blinking lights. Enough to start a psychotic episode of some magnitude I believe!!!

Hey, Jim! If we tell you that Burger King now has a "vegie burger", might you be enticed to return home?!? :o)
