Notes from the October 2002 GPSF Meeting

The GPSF is working to raise T.A. stipends and against proposed new Chapel Hill town ordinances on rental properties. Students are encouraged to attend the next CH town council meeting on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

The Graduate School is 100 years old this year so look for some planned events.

After a lengthy debate, a resolution in support of the findings of the provost's planning committee on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-identified climate at UNC passed.

And several appropriations requests were approved for various graduate student associations and events. If your association needs/wants funds, get in touch with me. Oct. 27 is the next allocations deadline. Common requests are those for events, such as lunches, receptions, conferences, and outings. Publications and publicity campaigns also get money. The main requirement is that the money be used for and by graduate students.

The next GSPF meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 5.
