Ecology of the Future

As uploaded people may be so well adapted to space, they may facilitate large-scale environments suitable for biological (non-uploaded) humans. These could be enclosed spaces, or perhaps a terraformed Mars or Venus. Such efforts might eventually permit large-scale emigration from Earth, leaving it as a "wildlife preserve" to recover from our Industrial Age. Alternatively, people may have little concern for the environment, and cause further damage by colonizing the oceans or eliminating rain forest. Certainly humans could adapt themselves to the modified Earth that would result, but many other organisms could not. It becomes an ethical issue. (Comments?)
