Background: the tune originates from the Shetland Islands. According to fiddler Katy Adelson, ``Some people think this tune was composed by Friedemann Stickle who used to play this tune every year on Christmas morning in the hall of the Edmondston family. However, other people think this tune may be even older and composed by someone else.'' Stickle lived from 1794 to 1867 and was a renowned multi-instrumentalist who lived on the Unst island of the Shetland Islands.
