The Center for International Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools have joined with Winston-Salem State University's International Programs, Division of Education, and the Office of Academic Affairs to sponsor the annual International Day activities at Winston-Salem State University. The activities will span two (2) days and will, for the first time, include academic sessions.
International Day activities serve as a showcase of the University International Programs' commitment to work with students, faculty and staff to become conscious members of the world community and to generate knowledge essential for this purpose. This 1996 event is designed to address the second specific objective of the University International Programs which is:

The keynote speaker, Dr. Asa G. Hilliard, an educational psychologist
and historian, has been a teacher, researcher, school administrator, and
professional writer for many years. He has specialized in the study of
psychological test validity in cross cultural usage, child development,
improved teaching methods, and Ancient African History -- especially
Ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) History. He has served as an expert witness in
litigation on test validity for African-Americans and is a member of the
American Psychological Association Committee of Psychological Tests and
Assessment. Dr. Hilliard is a founding member of the Association for the
Study of Classical African Civilization. He served for eight years as
Dean of Education at San Francisco State University before joining the
faculty at Georgia State University as Fuller E. Callaway Professor of
Education. Dr. Hilliard is a JPGted teacher, and is deeply committed to a
truthful reclamation and restitution of the History of Africa and
