THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA
AT
CHAPEL HILL
The University Center for International Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, National Humanities Center and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools have joined with Winston-Salem State University's International Programs, Division of Education, and the Office of Academic Affairs to sponsor a two day conference that will include academic sessions, workshops and performances.
The forum and workshops aim to promote the appreciation of music as the agent of global interpenetration of peoples and their mores. Music entertains; but it also represents and connects diverse cultures in our communities, in the state of North Carolina, in our nation and throughout the world. It has done so in defiance of all barriers.
The conference organizers and speakers aims are to provide additional information on which participants can build a solid foundation for understanding and appreciation of music as an international ambassador of goodwill.
