[nafex] Deer and strawberries

I have about 1,000 row feet of Chandler strawberries in plasticulture, the
deer have shredded the row covers and eaten the plants right down to the
ground. I sprayed them with a mixture of red cayenne pepper and a little dish
detergent. This seems to have stopped them temporarily and I will re-apply
later. I think if I can break the cycle it will be OK. The strange thing is
that in the same field I also have about 200 row feet of Cavendish
strawberries that they have hardly touched. Has anyone else seen this or is
it a trait of PA deer?
