Re: Beneficial microbes - composting

Injection of phosphoric acid into trees can be tough on the trees. There are
naturally occurring fungi in the phloem and xylem of trees that appear to be
highly helpful to the trees. These are killed off when the tree is injected
with any biocide.

The mycorrhizal fungi can be killed as well, if you are not very, very
careful about dose.

Australia may not have as many trees as the US, but there are still lots of
trees on the continent. Are you suggesting that Australia has the man-power
that each and every tree that is infected could be injected? That isn't
possible in the U.S., I expect it isn't really feasible in Australia.

Maybe instead of the "nuke 'em" approach, Australia could make the outback
off-limits to off-road vehicles. Except for emergency situations of course.
But stop off-road-vehicles from disturbing and destroying soils and the
natural systems.

Doesn't that make more sense?
