False alarm. This won’t work with compost teas
as the test relies on water being
colorless which compost tea isn’t. Sorry. Judi -----Original
Message----- I’ve been
looking for a DO meter and re-reading some of the posts. I’m not a
scientist and I don’t think I’d care to constantly recalibrate a DO meter as some
on this list are doing. In
researching this, I’m also hearing from
you that these meters are pricey. I asked my club
members if someone had a meter and one member who’s retired
from the oyster business loaned me his dissolved oxygen test kit by Hach,
Model OX-2P. I’ve just read
the instructions which seem straight forward. The kit looks easy to use. I
phoned the manufacturer and had all my
questions answered. These kits only
cost $47.75 and are good for 100
tests. Hach also sells DO
probes. They’re in Roger Sedlacek-Advisor Thought some of you may be
interested. Judi
