I have tested the Denali Gold on multiple occasions and have had no problem=

extracting all viable organisms (bacteria/archea, fungi, and protozoa). I =
tend
to see more bacteria relative to fungi though. One option would be to
"activate" the compost prior to brewing with it.

I have not done any side-by-side testing with the "Alaska Humus," but I'm s=
ure
Jeff's product is top notch (it's just more expensive in my area).

Keep in mind that while these products may not fit the strict definition of=
 
 "humus" (you can identify plant material microscopically in the mix), but =
that
has no bearing on their viability as a biology source for tea brewing.
