this link is a similar study. I have to search through our files at work fo=
r our trials with UI. Notice the amounts of compost being used though and t=
he concerns from dairy compost nutrient maximizing. In these studies they a=
lways use 0, 5 and 10 and then usually some other high number but the farme=
r wont pay for it when it comes down to anything over 2-3. One way we found=
 to be extremely beneficial to get around the high salt levels is if you ha=
ve free stall dairies then use the wash material they used for bedding as y=
our compost source material. Its salt levels are much lower. You are right =
on the N availability I think I was thinking about all of the nutrients ava=
ilability or maybe I just forgot and thought I remembered.
