Besty Ross and Sustainable Growth Texas LLC
are pioneers in the manufacture and broad-scale
application of LCE (liquid compost extract)
mixed with customized bio-spray blends which
are formulated according to compost biology,
organic and biological liquid amendments,
and the specific soils, farm site, crop,
and time of growing season.
I had gone into independent soil and crop
consulting before co-authoring this article
with the pecan grower but worked on this
orchard project with SGTX for four growing
seasons.
This is the second major demonstration research
project in Texas that shows organic management
of pecans with compost teas or liquid compost
extracts -- along with composts or poultry litter,
mycorrhizal inoculants, key minerals, and cultural
management strategies that make up a systems
approach -- is feasible on a commercial scale.
