You are correct chloramines will not gas off, chloramine is chlorine and
ammonia bonded and is much more stable in a water system
It is an oxidizer just like chlorine, it oxidizes anything organic if you
just add a little humic acid, fish or even compost to the water it will be
gone
It is typically delivered at 4 PPM so just a little of anything organic will
make it go away

Subject: [compost_tea] chloramines
Good afternoon everyone,
My water company just sent me a letter stating we have high levels of
trihalomenthanes. They also stated they are no longer going to use chlorine
as a treatment. Now they will be using chloramines. From a little
research, I believe chloramines stability will not gas off from air stones.
Is their anything I can do before a start a tea brew? Also I have a double
GE smart filter canisters on my water line coming in off the street. One is
fiber and one charcoal or carbon. Will that take out the chloramines to
safely water my organic garden? Thanks all, Migraine
