Steve;

By the American Unit System I presume you are referring to the Imperial
System. We use the Metric System. Generally a much easier system and used by
the rest of the world. We converted in 1956 I seem to remember.

The trouble is that when you are calibrating a manual system, your sprayer
is stationary and you have to hold beakers at nozzles to measure delivery.
Using speed is therefore not possible, so you need to use tractor pto rpm
and time taken to traverse the required distance. (in my case 100metres). Of
course, if your tractor speedometer is accurate, or if you have a tyre
chart, you can determine your time over the course from your speed. You need
pto rpm because the pressure in your system is proportional to pto rpm. So
you need to set your system pressure at a certain rpm.

I feel though that we are digressing from ACT. Its probably a case of "to
each his own"

No leaflet that I know of describes the system. If you go to the Amazon,
Hardi, Technoma or any other international sprayer manufacturers site, I'm
sure they will give you the complex formula. Many reps have tried to prove
my system wrong, and eventually they adopt it because it is so easy.

It's laid out real easy for folks that use the American
unit system. It involves two measurements, speed
and volume.

I was digging your system until I got lost on
pressure/rpm. Is there a leaflet that desribes
that method?
