Kathleen;

Applying ACT will not solve a low organic matter problem. Organic matter
needs to be applied or compost or green manuring. Ask your dad, he will be
able to explain.

Hello all,
Thanks for all the replies about the sprayers. That helped me lots and will
save me a bit of money for now - will just use a hand pump 3 gallon sprayer
for now. So, my questions:

- The plot I will spray is very low in OM so I want to put out some foods
(humic acid and ? - want to promote fungal). How much would I put out with
that 3 gallon sprayer over 1/5th an acre?

- I'm also guessing that I would just add the extra food right into the
sprayer before I apply it?

Thanks!

Kathleen -- There are several solutions for low OM, which is a most basic
problem. More foods is not one of them. You need compost or several seasons
with cover plants stirred in, methinks. -- Kirk
