When researching, my experience was that I seemed to get erattic readings u=
sing the EC meter with organics mixed in water. When I discovered that EC m=
eters are used to evaluate salts in compost, I was dubious as to reliabilit=
y so I tracked down one of the experts with the US Composting Council (or s=
ome such organization) to get an opinion. The opinion given was that this t=
esting method was less accurate when organic matter was involved due to ele=
ctrical interference and was therefore not very reliable. I can send you th=
e short email I got from their expert if you like. I'm not saying it is all=
 wrong as a testing method, I just don't trust it, the same as I do not tru=
st many tests.

I do use an EC/TDS meter to check water quality.

I don't know what you mean; "biological cycling being capable of completely=
 feeding the fish" I was considering the aquaculture effluent being utilize=
d to feed plants. I suppose you may know that this effluent still requires =
mostly microbial processing to be utilized by the plants. [as mentioned in =
my previous post]

I'm unsure what you mean "elaborate on your knowledge of nutrients in "sequ=
estered" form?" Do you mean everything I know or what do I think it is or.=
...?

There was nothing synthetic about the fish hydrolysate we used...well excep=
t it came in a plastic pail. I picked it up direct from the processing plan=
t and special ordered it without phosphoric acid. The stuff I get is also m=
ade without phosphoric acid. It is 100% organic.

Are you guys down south accustomed to synthetic fish hydrolysate? <GRIN>
