[compost_tea] Re: New to the game
What are you trying to accomplish? What is use of tea to be?
"smells like it is fermenting" may not be good if you are trying to develop=
a healthy microbial community on leaf surface or in soil. Usually aerobic=
organisms are considered more favorable. Fermenters are certainly anaerob=
ic, and while not necessarily harmful, anaerobic microbes generally include=
or favor disease organisms. Some commercial products use fermentations to=
make nutrients more readily available to plants, but the idea with aerated=
compost teas is usually to multiply the beneficial aerobic organisms. Als=
o, aerobic populations will not keep active for long in a sealed container.=
They need fresh oxygen supply. But maybe it just smelled alive, in which=
case you did great.
