Only certain ectomycorrhizal spores will germinate and grow in compost tea.=
 Endomycorrhizal species which are associated with most crop plants (vegeta=
bles, etc.) require contact with roots or seeds to sprout. The only excepti=
on to this is carried out under strictly monitored lab conditions.
