It has been my experience that people tend to endow things with mystical
properties when they are a hard sell. I have seen no proof that a Vortex
creates any special qualities in water that it would not have without the
Vortex. I see too much of this selling in everyday life, that you ascribe
properties to something and then say these properties cannot be measured,
and the process you have creates these properties, and that these properties
are beneficial.
If the Vortex creates properties, then describe these properties, or at the
least, describe the results achieved after these properties have been
created and that can be ascribed to these properties - but please don't try
and ascribe magical properties without evidence. Vortices are everywhere in
liquids and gasses. You will find them even in your bathtub when you let the
water out, on the tips of aircraft wings etc. etc.

Here's a video of Paul Stamets talking about composting wood chips.

You can find a lot of info I've written up on the concept of living water
and the Vortex Brewer at this link www.VortexBrewer.com/microbe
Tim's right, evidence of the benefits of allowing water to circulate is
mostly subject, but Nature is a mysterious arena. As is water. The Vortex
Brewer doesn't make a vortex, it allows it, as a river meanders or eddies.
This is how water wants to move. When you respect what water wants, as
opposed to what we want to get out of it, magical things happen. That may be
biased, and subjective, but it has been my experience.
By telling ourselves we can measure everything directly we set ourselves up
for unnecessary frustration, and the potential of taking our potential for
granted. The deeper and further we look the less we know.
The Vortex Brewer does create higher DO using the same air pump and volume
of water relative to brewing stagnantly. Without using air diffusers.
As we say, Life is Motion. Motion is Life. The Vortex Brewer is Life in
Motion. Stir it up!

because as has been stated it will tie up too much nitrogen. Just keep them
on top as a mulch, and let them break down slowly. It has been my experience
that this takes several years. And as the microbes which break down the wood
chips multiply they attract worms. It appears that they breakdown faster the
second and and third year with the increase of microbes. Just as depicted in
the video, I have been able to weed very easily where I have used the wood
chips for three years. Not so in the same soils where I have used manure and
compost.
