I think you may be on to something. If we are to give something credit for=
influencing our environment, that credit must be based on rational thought=
, otherwise we are simply basing it on faith, not exactly a scientific meth=
od.

Also, to avoid confusion (if any), I am neither knocking nor supporting th=
e moon's effect on plant growth. I was simply commenting on what I perceive=
d as a lack of logic in the apparent assertion that the gravitational influ=
ence of the moon is one of addition to the earth's (eg. plants growing down=
wards) rather than subtraction (pulling on) from or skewing of the earth's =
gravitational force. Even in areas of microbial nutrient loops I am still a=
great believer in logic.
Was it Buddha or someone like that who said [something like] not to believ=
e anything anyone says unless you can apply your own logic to it?
