For the sake of information I thought it would be helpful
If I could include a few historical methods of control for
Mildew.

The Farmerīs Gazetta states that the mildew is prevented
by sprinkling fine salt around the bushes; or, where it can be had,
by placing sea weed around them. Watering with soap-suds, before
the fruit forms, and using compost for manure, is also good.
-----------------------------------

My Note : At that time the term "manure" was used as a synonim of
fertilizer so " using compost for manure" is the same as saying
"using compost as a fertilizer".

I hope you like it . I have a copy of this book and you would not
believe the information I have found regarding crop yields they
had at that time. Most of the time same or higher yields than today.
