Re: [compost_tea] Post-NOSB decision
Hi, This is great news but lets not get excited--all it has done at this=
stage is buy us some time, I have posted the following letter to those I k=
now are using compost tea in New Zealand and Australia and ask that you all=
read it put the same challenge out to all you contacts/cilents
this gives us time to get the info from the widest possible range of operat=
ions and supply those that will carry the weight to the committee with some=
real fire power!!
the letter;(it included Elaines post)
Hi ,
This is stage one ---we must use our season here in NZ and Australia to c=
ollect some good data.
Get your teas tested for human pathogens and keep the data --we can forward=
a summary of this in 3-4 months to those in the states that can forward th=
e case for all.
the best option (for those in the north Island NZ) for this that I could fi=
nd is
Rotorua District Council Environmental Laboratory
ph 07--3479373
Talk to Dianna or Ken Thomas.
make sure you say soilfood web compost tea--I have had discussions with the=
m and they are already testing there own compost and vermicaste for ecoli e=
tc.
They will supply sterile bottles for the tea.
For all others try your local government health officer and they will tell =
who to use or hunt around.
use the teas -use the testing of both SFW and general lab and monitor what =
you are doing--the battle might be over but the war to retain the use of co=
mpost teas is far from---we can not afford to lose this product!!

Bio Soils.
