Tom,

There's a wealth of information about brix on the site moderated by Rex
Harrill.

I'm a long-time subscriber to the informative brix list. If you and
others are interested,

send a message to:

 <http://www.egroups.com/subscribe/BrixTalk> BrixTalk_at_yahoogroups.com

and if you'd like information on the use of the refractometer, check
out:

Yes, you can check the health of your plants with a hand-held
refractometer and actually see
if the CT is having an effect. Rex Harrill and others on the brix list
would be
more than happy to help you with its use. There are new and second-hand
models available.

You can also use a refractometer in the grocery store to compare the
quality of conventional and organically grown produce. It's a great
tool and so easy
to use.

Judi
