Hi Jack and others -

As soon as the annual report for this year's SARE grant is done (by Dec 31,
of course), we'll get the report out to the list serve, ok? We're still
working on the statistics..... A graduate student, Kirk Waterstripe, will
present the paper at the US Composting Council meeting. We'll publish in
Applied Soil Ecology, or Biology and Fertility of Soils as soon as the paper
gets formally written up. But please realize, that we have one more year
left to go on the grant. Then we will write up the whole project, with three
years worth of data.

Cindy Salter will present a paper as well at the US Composting Council, and
it would be good to get a copy of that paper from her. Although please
realize that the president of Growing Solutions has stated that I cannot
communicate with any of his employees or associates at all in any way, under
duress of a lawsuit coming my way if I do speak with them. Not talking to
anyone selling Growing Solutions products is fine by me, but then how can
anyone associated with Growing Solutions possibly present an overview of
compost tea? Cindy's employer prevents her from talking to one of the major
researchers in the area of compost tea, so how can she present an industry
overview of compost tea?

There will also be a field demonstration of a great compost tea machine - one
that actually gets GREAT fungal extraction and growth in the tea maker - and
a tour of the clearly visible benefits of compost tea given by Tom Jaszewski,
the head horticulturalist at the Mirage Hotel, on the last day of the
meeting. Tom's presentation and tour should be very informative, and I
suspect that he will give the real overview of what's going on in the world
of compost tea.
