Re: [compost_tea] ornamental H
John,
Yeah, it sure sounds like you overloaded! How could you clog up the Kis ho=
les with all that pressure coming out of them? Not sure why you mixed AH wi=
th the wormgold on the first try! Also, rock dust isn't needed as this stu=
ff has volcanic ash in it.
In any case, what you got was a good tea because I know the brewer and have=
used worm castings and AH before. Did you pre innoculate the AH to get fu=
ngi growth before making the tea?
The smell was too much kelp.
As for Orchids, I feed mine with Tea. They look better ie leaf wise and I h=
ave stemed a bad infestation of scale, but it has only been one year so it =
is hard to say if there has been a difference in blooms. Frankly, I am not =
sure how the soilfood web works on orchids, but I am sure there is one ....=
..I do know that orchid seeds won't germinate without special mychorrizal f=
ungi....and teas should work as well as fertilizers. No one feeds the wild =
orchids Peters or Miracle Gro....
Orchid growers will tell you that there is no organic way to grow orchids. =
I think CT may prove them wrong.
Cheers,
Jeff
