Hi William
I don´t know if anyone has already
answered your question.
It is not a matter of fineness of the particle.
Normaly in Compost tea we use Soluble Kelp
that is a dry kelp extract. In other words they gring
the kelp and mix it with water till they get a liquid
form of kelp. After that they filter the liquid and
probably spray dry it. That is much more powerful than
kelp meal or powder .
We use the soluble Kelp powder ( dry extract ).

Is there a big difference between kelp meal and kelp powder for use
in CT? I have been using Thorvin kelp meal (from Icelandic waters),
but am assuming kelp powder would be much more finely ground and
therefore more available to the critters. Is kelp powder just kelp
meal that has been ground up more finely? If powder is better, can I
"grind my own" out of kelp meal?
