I use 24 +- holes of .15 mm in a circle of ,78". A smaller circle fewer holes on the Bitti. The larger "bubbler' is enough to drive a 300 gallon aeration system during the most active microbe growth. I have tried 'stones". They make a great looking bubble pattern but load up with microbes. The "bubbler usually comes out clean as if the microbes were eating away any contamination. Or it could be the agitation in that area keeps the surface clean. I was not aware of the "to many bubbles from stones" problem until it was discussed on the 'list' last week. Bob
