Re: RES: [compost_tea] Flaming others
Thank you very much Elaine for your kind and considerate thoughts on this s=
ubject.
Your participation in this group is very much appreciated. You keep us on t=
he data trail, and if anything, we need to prove, scientifically, the how's=
and why's of compost tea. Thank you.
Now, please, back to the tea.

I agree that the gross generalizations about nationalities should be avoi=
ded. I didn't appreciate the crack about typical Americans always pushing =
products. I don't think there really is a typical American, and most of us=
aren't salesmen.
There are only one or two people on this list that push product without b=
eing asked by someone about their product. If you have a problem with a pe=
rson doing that, ask Jeff privately about doing something about that person=
. Perhaps they just need to realize that the product pushing is not apprec=
iated. Or perhpas Jeff can help you see that the "product pusher" was resp=
onding to a clear question about their product. Or they were asked a quest=
ion that their product would work for.
But it is clear and straightforward communication that is needed. No sni=
ping. Do not degrade someone who disagrees with you, or has an alternate p=
oint of view. They have a reason for their views, and to move ahead, we ne=
ed to share those views, not be rude about a different point of view.
If anyone doesn't like me talking about how to take samples, or how to me=
asure microorganisms in tea, please express that opinion to me directly. I=
will likely respond by saying that I don't often push doing work with SFI,=
unless directly asked how something should be measured. But if I'm being =
too blatant, I'll do my best to stop. Just please, let me know.
I can be dense and blind about things sometimes, and instead of someone s=
topping communication with me, I need to have things explained to me.
OK?
