Hi,
The lid is on top to contain any foam bubbles until the airstreams from the
three holes under the lid bust them so all the contents stay in the bucket
and not on the floor around the bucket. I believe we are the only brewer
that has solved this issue with no additional addatives to the brewer. I
call the three holes the bubble busters. Also, we run at 8.4 ppm disolved
02 for 10.5 hours at 70 degrees, from 10.5 hours until 11.25 at 7.6 ppm
disolved 02 and 72 degrees, at 11.25 until 12 hours we resume 8.4 ppm
disolved 02 and 70 degrees. We are the only 12 hour brewer in the
marketplace. I believe our elevation is 400 feet above sea level (I could be
wrong on this).
We have such great 02 levels and consistency that 40% of the brewers we have
sold in the last 5 months (450) are being used for research. One of many
items I feel proud of the KIS 5 gal. home gardners brewer.
I hope this answered your questions from a nonbiased person????
