Kirk,
I attended "The New Organic Agriculture Standards - Satellite Program"
today at the WSU Learning Extension. The two hour program featured a
look at the new USDA standards for organic crops. It was an opportunity
for viewers nationwide to watch the first of two satellite broadcasts
focused on the National Organic Agriculture Standards and the
implications they pose for Extension Agents, state and national
certification staff, consultants and others involved in the production
of organic commodities.
One of the experts on the team was Miles McEvoy who works for the WSDA's
Organic Food Program as an inspector and program manager.
He helped establish the National Association of State Organic Programs
(NASOP) and is their President.
I posed the question to the panel on the use of compost tea and Miles
McEvoy responded. He said that compost tea can be used if it was free
of pathogens. He also said sugar and molasses can be used in compost
tea.

than
late Feb notice, there is no news. We gotta get USNOP to approve
compost
tea. Any NOP without it would be silly. Please speak up.>
