RES: RES: [compost_tea] Humic Acid
I agree. Soluble humates have a very defined "window"
for foliar applications. Too little ( below 100 grams per hectare)
it does not work and too much above say 300 grams per hectare
it starts to complex one molecule to another and will not get
into the plant cell. Higher applications have been shown to
even cause a negative effect ( stunt growth ).
As far as soil applications are concerned this is a totally different
ball game and one can go as high as 20 kilos per hectare without
any problem.
Since CT is foliar applied it turns out that we should observe that
range from 100 to 300 grams per hectare depending on the amount
of water one intend to use in a certain area ( hectare or acre)

Using the FOLIAR application rate (for good quality powdered humates,
Gumat,
Humisolve, etc) for growing plants this (above) is close to what Jose
recommended - however most humates have a SOIL application rate that is
commonly ten to a hundred times the foliar rate and would be way way too
much for putting into tea
