Re: [compost_tea] Post-NOSB decision

Hi,    This is great news but lets not get excited--all it has done at this stage is buy us some time, I have posted the following letter to those I know are using compost tea in New Zealand and Australia and ask that you all read it put the same challenge out to all you contacts/cilents

this gives us time to get the info from the widest possible range of operations and supply those that will carry the weight to the committee with some real fire power!!
the letter;(it included Elaines post)

Hi ,
This is stage one ---we must use our season here  in NZ and Australia to collect some good data.
Get your teas tested for human pathogens and keep the data --we can forward a summary of this in 3-4 months to those in the states that can forward the case for all.
the best option (for those in the north Island NZ) for this that I could find is
Rotorua District Council Environmental Laboratory
ph 07--3479373

Talk to Dianna or Ken Thomas.
make sure you say soilfood web compost tea--I have had discussions with them and they are already testing there own compost and vermicaste for ecoli etc.

They will supply sterile bottles for the tea.
For all others try your local government health officer and they will tell who to use or hunt around.

use the teas -use the testing of both SFW and general lab and monitor what you are doing--the battle might be over but the war to retain the use of compost teas is far from---we can not afford to lose this product!!
