Hi Bill A weed is anything that my dear wife did not plant and it grows prolifically. I read once in a journal that in some cases weeds are beneficial to the other plants of a garden. Reviewing in my mind what this program is all about, microbes in the soil, I can understand that weeds might in some cases furnish the right food for the soilfoodweb. to support the growth of other plants. Clover for instance helps grass grow stronger. Now if I can get the clover to crowd out the buttercup and yet let the grass grow Donna may mark up one for me. I tried gypsum on some of the buttercup. It thrives on gypsum. any better ideas out there?
Compost and CT should help your plants go through dry weather. Better absorption, deeper roots, better delivery of essential nutrients. But water is essential to both microbes and the plants. How nch rain to you get there? Bob

Are there any other members of the group living in Europe? I am living in Portugal and find it very difficult to obtain items that are recommended for use in C.T.Re Tom Jazsewski remark about controlling weeds.Surely a weed is just a plant out of place and so should benefit from CT? Look forward to being able to reduce water cycles as Tom has but on soft fruit and fruit trees.Bill Halstead.
