[compost_tea] Rock dust

We have been buying a product from Italy for composting and for control of ammonia smells in chicken houses which in addition to microlife, contains an "energised" calcium sulphate and an "energised" quartz.  It works well but is very expensive.  The suppliers English is poor and it is very difficult to make out what exactly their claim is.

I have seen a couple of references to the use of rockdust from quarries as an ingredient in CT.  Jose & Tom, I think.  Someone referred to its paramagnetic qualities.  My question to the group is what is "rockdust" and what benefit does it give to the CT?  Is the energy/magnetism natural or "manufactured"?  Where can I read more?

Possibly CT (presumably a different recipe) can be applied in animal husbandry applications as well?
