Why not forget the colleauges and do this for YOU - just take the brix meter
out in the field every time you go out - monitor the brix levels of crops
that are going good compared to those that are not so good - look for
response to tea application or any foliar nutrition that growers are using -
look for insect and weed pressure related to brix - keep the numbers and
over a season you'll build up a picture -

What I have is probably not what you need
I have brix test results taken from the growing wheat crop in response to
foliar applications of biological nutritional sprays, each set has two
unsprayed control and four different spray mixes, the brix of crop and any
major weed populations was tested, youre welcome to the numbers if its any
use or interest, but the actual spray details are commercially sensitive
info. Let me know - it will take a while to put together but probably needs
doing anyway.

What I was refering to as easy was plant sap freeze point (temperature) just
this ONE thing ok. What is the freeze point temperature of high brix plant
sap as compared to low brix plant sap? That will then tell you whether or
not brix is likely to be a part of the frost thing. I have before frost brix
numbers on those crops that I referred to earlier. The frosted crops were
conventional urea fed wheat and around 6 brix and the biological crops were
running around 10 to 11 brix. Thats taken around 11 am in sunshine mid
winter.

Well see I reckon the science is already done on this - Carey Reams was no
idiot
neither is Arden Andersen. I find it more useful to accept their information
as being good ( and yours too ) and get on with things. After all
conventional scientists once 'proved' that DDT was safe, they've proved
many times that artificial nitrogen is the best way to grow a crop, and
they've proved that GMO crops are good for the environment (just ask em)
