RES: [compost_tea] Humic Acid

I send samples to two different laboratories here in Brazil.

It looks like Black Hearth from Canada and Terravita have

decent and honest products. I am not saying they are the only ones

which are good, however I can testify that Humisolve is

not an honest product.

There is no Humic acid as explained before in a previous post.

Humic acid is a group of compounds ( which by the way are neutral)

which have a broad range ( from a few thousand Daltons to dozens of

thousands of Daltons) . Due to their size and molecular weight they

are not soluble in water like Fulvic acidS another group with smaller

molecular weight.

Therefore when you say three you must be referring to three thousand types

and not only three types unless you are referring to Fulvic, Humic and Ulmic.

Then you have three groups but Ulmic is too heavy to elicit some biological

effect when sprayed in the plant.

So good Soluble Humates must have those two groups : Fulvic and Humic

acids comprising virtually thousands of deifferent molecules.

Jose, Interesting research!  I am just about to  buy some humic acid and like everyone else, sure want the best.....how do you conduct your test?

Also, the best humic acid solutions contain several different humic acids...the more the merrier, as I understand it. Can you comment on which ones have 3 or more humic acids?

Cheers,

Jeff
